Backpacks 4 SA Kids are a charity that provide a backpack of clothes and personal supplies to children placed in out of home care such as emergency foster care and domestic violence shelters. Often these children are being removed from a traumatic situation and a backpack of items that they can call their own can provide reassurance and comfort. The kind of items that are included in a backpack (depending on age) are clothes, pyjamas, a toothbrush, hairbrush, toy, dvd and book. Backpacks 4 SA Kids rely heavily on the public not only for good quality donations but also for help in sorting and packing.
On Friday 16th June, Lee Green has arranged a session with Backpacks 4 SA Kids for staff members to help sort donations and pack backpacks.
