Lee Green & Co are more than just accounting. In fact, the Lee Green Team are about much, much more.
Each fortnight on a Friday morning, two employees of Lee Green & Co enter a different type of workspace – a kitchen. As part of our Community Engagement Program, every second Friday between the hours of 7-11am, our staff volunteer in the Meals on Wheels SA kitchen preparing hot and nourishing three course meals.
Meals on Wheels SA is a heavily volunteer-based organisation that facilitates the preparation and delivery of meals to those in our community who cannot easily shop or cook for themselves. These people can include those in their senior years, hospital recovery patients, persons with a disability, or anyone in a situation in which support of this nature can be provided.
Based in the Burnside kitchen under Lead Volunteer Susan, Lee Green staff rotate through an internal roster each fortnight as part of the Meals on Wheels SA Corporate Volunteer Program.
“The volunteers from Lee Green have been great” Susan praises.
Having graduated from ‘The Sink’ on kitchenhand duties, our volunteers were promoted through the ranks and now help to prepare soups, hamburgers, or whatever other delicious items are on the menu, and assist in the packing of meals ready for delivery too.
“They are hardworking and dedicated, and I’m very impressed with their work ethic, but they are a lot of fun too.
“We have a cohesive and fun group here, and the Lee Green volunteers are very good to work with."
Our volunteers thoroughly enjoy their involvement in the program and the opportunity to actively give back to our community here in SA. They love the volunteer’s delicious scones with Susan’s homemade raspberry jam too!
